Tim Mattis, PT
San Carlos Clinic
Tim Mattis, a native of San Bruno, received his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona California in 1995. A seasoned veteran in outpatient orthopedics, Tim worked at two orthopedic/sports medicine clinics before taking a position as manager and lead physical therapist at a San Carlos clinic for 14 years before coming to Apex. He recently received a certificate of completion after finishing a year-long course in Australian based manual therapy at Kaiser Redwood City under the direction of Roland Lucas.
Tim’s interest in physical therapy began after sustaining a rotator cuff injury which required surgery. The physical therapy regime he was given spurred his interest in the body’s ability to respond and progress through specific therapy and training. His unique style and interest in the complete person are an invaluable asset in achieving the most rapid and successful recovery for his patients.
When he is not in the clinic, Tim and his wife, are actively involved in their community, participating in their own and their boys’ school and sporting events. Tim enjoys cooking gourmet dinners for friends and family, gardening and landscaping (ask about his waterfalls!) When he is not in the clinic, Tim can be found on a baseball diamond coaching in Redwood City where he has served on the executive little league board and has coached a number of all-star teams over the past three years.
