Jennifer Jung has more than 15 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine and brings a diverse skillset to the Physical Therapist team at Apex. Born and raised in New Jersey, Jennifer received her B.S. in Exercise Sport Science from Elon College in 1997. While at Elon, she competed on the nationally ranked women’s soccer team. She went on to receive her Masters in Physical Therapy at East Carolina University in 2000 and has been practicing in the sports medicine specialty ever since.
Jennifer has strong clinical interests in the treatment of endurance athletes, running biomechanics, and competitive high school and collegiate athletes. In addition, she has always valued the importance of continuing education as a way to learn new skills to better serve her patients. She has completed a year-long course in Australian-based manual therapy at Kaiser Redwood City, achieved her board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), and received her full body certification in Active Release Technique (ART). This educational background allows her to adopt a multifaceted approach when treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
At the core of Jennifer’s treatment philosophy is the importance of treating the whole person in order to find the source of their problems, rather than just treating their symptoms. She believes this approach reduces the chance of re-injury and allows for greater personal performance once treatment is complete. By listening to and learning from each patient, she helps empower them to be an active participant in the rehabilitation process.
When not treating patients, Jennifer enjoys competing in triathlons, snowboarding, and playing soccer.
